1. How can I pay my water bill?

• Web-based online payment - login to MG Bill Pay online 
• Automated phone payment system - 763-494-6330, option 1.
• Paper check - sent by whatever means you choose, including U.S. Postal Service to:

2. What are the current water rates in Maple Grove?

3. How is the sewer charge on my water bill calculated?

Single family sewer charges are based upon water consumption during the winter months. To calculate sewer use, the city reads your water meter during the winter months to determine a quarterly average. If a customer's current actual water use is less than the winter average, then the sewer charge is based on actual water consumption.

4. How do I let utility billing staff know I am moving and need to start or stop service?

Complete an online start service or stop service form or call utility billing during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 763-494-6330.

5. When I move out of my house does the city turn off the water?

The city does not turn off the water when someone moves out. City staff will obtain a meter reading on your move out date and send you a final bill. To let utility billing know you are moving out complete a stop service form or call utility billing 763-494-6330.

7. I just bought a house in Maple Grove and received an outstanding water bill. Do I have to pay this bill if I didn’t use the water?

A water bill is considered a lien against the property. Your real estate agent and/or title company should inform you of any outstanding water bills during the purchasing process, or you can call us at 763-494-6330 for that information. If these remedies do not work, the bill must be paid by the current homeowner.

8. Why is my water bill so high?

Water bills are based on how much water is used. Watering the lawn or garden will increase usage, as will the addition of occupants in the home. Leaks can also lead to an increase in your water bill.

9. Why was my water bill "estimated"?

It's possible your water meter's remote data device may have stopped transmitting, or your water usage may have been flagged as unusually high or very low for your property.

If your billing statement reads "estimate" next to the water consumption reading, you should contact us at 763-494-6330 to determine the cause of the estimate.
