How are my sewer rates calculated?

The residential sewer charge includes a per quarter base charge plus winter quarter (or less) flow charge.

Sewer base charge is $25.68 per quarter.

  • The base charge covers the cost of maintaining and administering the sewer system.

Sewer flow charge is $2.79 per 1,000 gallons of water used.

  • The flow charge is designed to cover the cost of water treatment.
  • The flow charge is based on the winter quarter water usage.

An average residence uses approximately 20,000 gallons of water during the winter quarter, resulting in an "average" sewer bill of $81.48.
